Born in Westphalia, Missouri, I grew up as
the youngest of four siblings. Early on, I developed a love of nature, animals, and also a need for adventure. By the age of 12, I began working on an animal presentation that continued to grow through the years that followed. It was at this time that I knew what I wanted to do with my life. Upon graduating from high school, I decided to take some time off and see what the world truly had to offer. I had already participated in a research expedition, so naturally I wanted to experience other aspects of life. For the first year I traveled the U.S.A. visiting mainly South Dakota and Colorado. Throughout the first year I did some humanitarian work, which ultimately led me to my next big undertaking.
In 2005 Louisiana was hit by Hurricane Katrina, wanting to help i volunteered with the Red Cross whom quickly flew me to the disaster area. Upon arrival I was stationed in Lake Charles, LA, this put me in perfect position to aid in the relief when hurricane Rita swirled into the area. After my experience I wrote and published a book titled Facing Katrina and Rita.
After this experience I worked many odd jobs, which were intertwined with my travels. During the next couple years I continued to experience things and learn new lessons. Two of the highlights from this period of my life were the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Refuge and meeting Cheyenne the healing wolf. I learned a lot in a very short time, after this time of learning I decided to make a move that I thought would help improve my life.
In 2007 I went from the summit of Pikes Peak to the sea level plains of Florida. I believed attending school there would help advance my career in a more positive direction. After six months I drove to Ft. Lauderdale, unfortunately, I quickly found out that this was not the place for me. After withdrawing from the college I headed home to Missouri.
One back in Missouri I moved back into the routine of doing odd jobs, I sometimes even got paid. By Easter 2008 another big disaster came about in the way of floods. I was quick to volunteer and drive to the affected area. I was glad that I was able to be in a position were I was once again able to help.
It was after this experience that I once again started thinking of college. Over the next few month, through a very strange and twisted series of events I was accepted to a college in Missouri. I had mistakenly registered for a college I had never heard of, but I soon found out it was for the best. In August, 2008 I began classes at Northwest Missouri State. My major being Marine Biology.
Currently I am a hard working student that is trying to balance social time with school work. I do not know what my future holds but I hope that it will be one that brings enjoyment to others.
